Girl's Bath

Upstairs Bathroom

Here is where we have spent the most time to date. Blood, sweat, and tears even. I'm lying about one of those. I really wanted to do something cool for the girls in here. Not just cool now, but something not quickly outgrown.

Sanding/priming/MULTIPLE coats of white paint on the doors, door frames and molding. The white looks much sharper and more dramatic.

We bought trim and built a frame for the huge, generic mirror using this tutorial

The cabinets were a polished light oak as well. We removed the doors, sanded every nook & cranny, primed and painted with the same grey as the wall. Painting the trim white.

I really love the ruffley shower curtain! I originally wanted the $118 Flamenco shower curtain from Anthropologie but then I remembered it was a kid's bathroom. Hard to tell in the pic, but that grey stripe is not ceiling, not wall but actually an odd angled "wall" in between.

Here is where I uncharacteristically chose functionality over appearance. There are so many cute shower curtain hooks available but not many that are practical for kids. Given their height disadvantage, pulling the curtain was always a struggle and usually resulted in it coming off half the hooks anyway. While not the prettiest, the balls on the top make for easy gliding and the complete loop makes it impossible for them to unattach the curtain.
